Docking Station Interference.

#1 Post by CeeDee » Fri Aug 15, 2008 9:41 am

Hi, I wonder is someone could give me some pointers to try, to get rid of interference, that occurs only when I have the T30 sitting in the dock.
Here is the setup; I have an Aiwa amplifier driving a pair of PSB 400 speakers. The amp does not have a ground on the power cord but does have a seperate ground connector that I am using. The power cord for the dock is grounded. I use the line out conector on the dock to conect to the amp and I get this realy bad hum. If I undock and conect to the headphone out jack on the T30 no problem. If I try to use the same conection when docked I still get the hum.
The dock is the full size dock not version 2.

On a totally different set of hardware (770 series in a SelectaDock III) some folks have reduced the amount of extra noise by turning off (disabling) the microphone input in the sound properties mixer slider. Obviously, though, this will only work if you are not using the microphone for some reason!

Thanks Phil, Worked for me too. I just have to remember to turn the mic back on when it's out of the dock.
