Haven't the faintest idea regaring quality etc. It's certainly not a name I've come across here in France but I've just ordered a Bluetooth printer adapter from them - it's coming from the US any day now - I'll be sure to give a full report.

I feel sure there must be someone on this forum with an opinion...

In my opinion Logitech produce some stunning stuff - I order their standard optical mice for where I work - and that's a VERY good test bed for rodents! - and I've a couple of their other mice myself - never had a problem that I can remember.

oh that sucks. Maybe it is because of the firmware. I have the latest because I just bought the phone last week.

Plinkerton, your FVU already has BT antenna so you can easilly add the BT daughter card - like I did for my 3VU:

Hmm, that's interesting. I was curious if I could do this. Maybe I'll have to consider it.

I've never been sure if it has the antenna in it already.

I would guess that you are connected to your *phone* over a 115.2Kbps Bt serial port.

The phone is most likely connected to network over a slower GPRS. I use my SE T610 through Bt for GPRS and my ThinkPad never knows my actual connection speed. Always reports 115.2Kbps to the phone.

In terms of the Bt devices I use, just that SE T610 phone, an iPAQ h4355, and a BMW M3. The BMW is definitely the coolest.

I use a Verizon/Moto V710 and a Moto HS810 headset. Can't get the headset to work properly. Anyone use the headset on Ventrillo?

Well, I use an MS Intelli Explorer Bluetooth. I'm quite happy with. It's not as precise as the MX1000 Logitech, but its allright. It sucks a lot of batteries, but i'll live. Always have a spare set of rechargeable AA's in the case

Besides that, I use my SonyEricsson S700i with BT. To syncronize MS Outlook etc etc

I recieved a "Logitech V500" quite some time ago. It does NOT use BT to transfer its signals but the USB dongle is small and can be stored inside the mouse. This mouse has the best handling I ever experienced with small notebook mice because of its special case that can be "lifted". It does not seem to stress the batteries too much and is precise enough on the trip. Of course not as precise as my MX1000 but OK.

I'd like to have the exact same mouse with BT instead of "FastRF"... Well, it's a good alternative. A nice feature is the "scroll-touch-area". It's a touch-sensitive area between the buttons that emulates a scroll wheel. Benefits of the touch-scroll-pad:
- No moving parts
- great design (looks much better than any scroll-wheel or scroll-nipple...
- easy to handle, precise
- can be "locked" to keep scrolling (just let the finger rest after an up- or down-movement.)

cons:
I did not find any yet. Maybe this: You don't have the rattering feeling of a scroll wheel.

But it emulates a slight "clicking" sound of a normal scroll wheel to recognize every scroll-step.

It fits to my T42p. Elegant and really good quality.

I wish I could find a small bluetooth microphone that I would give a professor to wear during lectures and it would transmit to my thinkpad. I could turn it on and off depending on what he was talking about. If you know of where I could find one I would owe you big time.

Update, I got the HS810 to work but I gave that to my younger sister and now I'm using the SE HBH-300 with my V710 and T42. Headset's sound quality is much better than the HS810 on both ends of the conversation.

BTW, I use my headset for Ventrilo... YES, it does work and it's pretty cool.

but still searching for
numeric keypad
only found the logitech dinovo mediaset with keyboard mouse keypad.

any other options?? for bt enabled numkeypad?

I've had a couple different ThinkPads with the current company, just switched from T42 (w/BT) to an X40 (w/o BT).

My main use of the Bluetooth connection was for GPRS access via T-Mobile in the US. They charge $19/month flat rate. This was with a Nokia 3600 series, then a Sony Ericsson T610 and now a Motorola E398.

Other Bluetooth devices I've used are the Microsoft (v1) Keyboard and Mouse. These can be really handy if you travel for business, give demonstrations, etc... I have them on my desktop as well at the office and for this purpose, they are a bit glitchy. Frequently it takes 15 seconds for the KB/Mouse to be activated so that you can login to Windows.

On the topic of Bluetooth speakers and hi-fi audio over Bluetooth, I think that might not be something that the current Bluetooth spec is designed to support. I certainly would love if I could have something like that as a standard feature in car-stereo head-units (a control interface and a streaming interface for an iPod for example that occurs across wireless). I think Bluetooth 2.0 and Wireless USB are being spec'd to address this use-case and look forward to their arrival.

I have a sony clie ux-50 the thing is pretty sweet...built-in bluetooth and wifi. I'd consider it more of a toy than anything else...I just need a bluetooth cell phone now and I can send text messages using the qwerty keyboard instead of the stupid number buttons on my cell phone althought the t9 text input is pretty quick and easy... other than that I know someone with a bluetooth printer that is pretty cool...but, be careful with those...anyone else with a bluetooth device could send random printjobs.

I really want to get a good BT mouse, preferrably that one by Microsoft (MS mice have the best feel in my hands). But the price is holding me back right now, lowest ive seen is about $100 for it (and it comes with a keyboard, which I don't really need)

Oh ok, well I think I saw that too....whatever it was, I remember coming to the conclusion that it was too much for a mouse, especially when my current one does everything I need it to. Maybe someday when I'm making that much a minute....

I currently have 2 devices that work with bluetooth: My Motorola V635 phone, and my Holux GPSlim 236 GPS receiver. The GPS receiver can be kept in my pocket, bag, glove box, etc. while I use mapping software on my laptop or PDA.

I have a Bluetooth MS Intellimouse and found that it was eating a set of batteries every couple of weeks until I did two things....

Firstly, I recovered the stiff moulded plastic bubble that covered the mouse in the original retail packaging, cut off the surrounding flange so it basically the same size as the mouse, and now keep the mouse in that while it is in my laptop carry bag. This stopped anything preseeing against the "buttons" on the mouse while its in the carry bag and waking it up (so consuming power). This alone improved battery life considerably.

Secondly, using some thin flexible plastic, I cut strip that I can put between the batteries and the terminals at the upper end of the battery compartment. Since I tend to only use an external mouse for particular types of work, sometimes I know I wont be likely to use the BT mouse for a while, so in that case I insert the isolating strip to turn it completely off. Off course I could just take the batteries out but then I'd have to find somewhere to keep them, so I find it easier to leave them, disconnected, in the mouse.

Since I added the two solutions together I haven't been caught out with a flat mouse battery.

I notice that MS has arranged their newest non-BT wireless mice so that the USB wireless dongle clips into the bottom of the mouse when not in use, and that disconnects the batteries entirely by activating a mechanical switch.

I hope that they will do something similar for the BT mice in future, as when travelling with any wireless devices, it really is useful (for a variety of reasons) to be able to definitively switch them off, rather than just have them go dormant!

Anyway, apart from the battery consumption, I haven't had any problems with the accuracy of the BT MS mouse (using it for detailed work in Visio) or any other aspect of it.

I'm also using the BT connection for managing my Nokia 6230i phone, which is very useful. I haven't had a need to use the phone as a remote data connection as I have 1XEV-DO wireless (via Sierra Aircard 850) for that.

I got this idea after seeing a USB coffee heater. How about instead of a USB coffee heater, someone make a Bluetooth coffee maker. I could simply wake up, reach to the other side of my bed for my laptop, use that to start the maker, then wait for the computer to show the message saying the coffee's ready. That way I won't have to get up until AFTER the coffee is already prepared and good to go. I'd have 5 extra minutes of bed time in the morning with that.

i wake up to the smell of fresh coffee every morning. My coffee machine has one waiting for me at 8am every morning!

I haven't yet gotten everything working well together, partially caused by the integrated Bluetooth of the Thinkpad using Microsofts Bluetooth stack, instead of the one by WIDCOMM. I tried installing the WIDCOMM stack, but haven't gotten it to work yet.

My other devices are:

Sony Ericsson W800i - great cameraphone - supports Bluetooth HID-profile
HP iPAQ 1940 - excellent and small Pocket PC
Logitech DiNovo 2.0 - Beautifull keyboard/mouse set, with great battery life

I would love to have a Bluetooth GPS receiver as well as a headset for IP-telephoning. The curtains idea is very neat too.

Previously I had a Motorola Razr V3 phone, and apart from it's small size, I can't really recommend it. It's the worst user interface I have experienced since 1998.

I have the LG VX8100 and the GPSlim 236. The GPS receiver is the best. I use it with MS Streets and Trips and now I'll never get lost!!
