Looking for diffrent programs for testing a T4x video
I want to fully test out this video chip on this T41 i have.
Just to make 100% sure theres nothing wrong with the system.
I have PC Doctor 5 and ran the video tests from that. All came up cleaned.
What other program's are out there that will test the video chip and the video ram chips?

Hmm.. why not 3dmark? Not a fault checker but a (pretty intensive) performance bechmark.

Not sure if this is where you're going, but, no program can tell for sure if you have a loose GPU, if there are no obvious symptoms.
I've seen the loose GPU problem many times. In some cases, all software based tests will pass as many time as you run them, but when you press on one side of the case the GPU fails. So really, the only way I have found to test for a loose GPU is to use the machine for a couple of weeks as a laptop, meaning on your lap.
If the GPU is loose, within a couple of weeks of regular use, you'll know it.
Like I said, not sure if that's where you were going, but this info might help others.

Thanks for the info.
Had the girlfriends T41 now for few months. She takes it with her every where. She never had a problem at all with it.Even around the house she could be in one room with it and then wants me to look at something on the web with it.She'll just unplug the T41 and bring the laptop to me still running(lcd open). She done this lots of times. Not one problem.
The other day on boot up the system got to the windows log on screen and just hung there.I could still turn the brightness up or down and the think light was all working. But it was at the log on screen for 6 or 7 min's befor i hit the power button(down for about 10 sec's) and had to re boot.
Every thing is fine since then. But the first thing i thought of was this T41 is starting to have the video problems.
That only happened once and it passes every test i run on it.And while running i carry it all over the place and all working great.
I guess windows will freze up every now and then.

The boot delay may have occurred from a hard drive problem. Carrying around a system with spinning platter(s) and an accessing R/W head is asking for trouble (Active Protection System - APS, notwithstanding). That's not to say that I don't do that from time to time... I've got enough backups (and systems) to keep me going if, knock on wood, one of my hard drives takes a vacation.
You mentioned you tried PC Doctor 5. I'm assuming that's the Windows version. Have you run the PC Doctor for DOS diagnostic? The tests may be a little different from the Windows routines. What I've seen when those DOS video tests are running is the same thing that the video card manufacturers used to give us when qualifying new graphics card designs (the company I work for used to make high speed DRAMS for video applications).
As underclocker says, if you are trying to determine if you have a loose GPU problem, then you should execute the PC Doctor video diagnostics, while at the same time flexing the system slightly to see if it affects the testing.

I never tryed PC doctor for dos.I used the windows one.
I never once seen anything strange on the screen.Like random lines, dot's , color's,ect.
The only thing this T41 did that was questionable was stop at the log on screen for 6 or 7 mins till i rebooted.
I'm just thinking where i have a T41 that it will have a video problem.
It just may have been a hard drive problem on that boot up.After all it is the 40 gig drive that it came with.It is getting a few years old now. When i find a good deal i cant pass up on a bigger ,newer hard drive i'm going to buy it.

Maybe the long delay was after a Windows update or after a program installation that went somehow wrong; I will not worry if that case was singular.

Just an update....
I think i found the problem.
The lock up's on boot up happened a few times now.The system worked flawless for months befor. The only change was i added the MiniPCI Atharos B/G/N card.
So last night i put back the non-ibm Intel 2200Pro B/G card and working great again.
I think it's a driver problem.As i got the driver from the e-bay listing.
For the most part the card worked fast. But i dont think i had the correct driver for it.I also dont know if you should use the Atharos program to connect or use the windows one.
I'm sure theres some setting to get the card running stable. But it's past my thinkpad skill's i think.
I want to get a true IBM Intel B/G card so i may put it up for trade.
I'm sure others here can use this card.
