keyboard/display of the future

keyboard like this:

and a display like this:
http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/08/mini ... n-display/
http://www.techworld.com/whitepapers/in ... perid=4520
which would require only a paper-thin 15.4" (or whatever) white screen to pop up in place of current heavy laptop LCDs

and the thinkpad would be 1/3 the weight and 1/3 the height

I wonder to what degree the physical movement of keys, obviously lacking in the laser-projection unit, assists our typing rhythm and speed. Is it merely something we're used to, or is it a valid ergonomic necessity?

This is the same question involved in physical keys vs. touchscreen keyboard on a mobile device. While some sort of feedback for activating the desired key (visual with highlighting the key, or aural with a "click" sound) does help, the physical keyboards are still considered best for fast, accurate use.

I also don't see how the laser keyboard would detect simultaneous press of, say, W and S.
