t60 palm rest replacement

i tried to get those ati and intel label off my palm rest this morning, and accidentally scuff the palm rest. it now looks like irritating like a pimple.

i see that ibm sells replacement for 115 bucks. does this come with the old school ibm logo or the new thinkpad logo?

I *think* it would be the old-school logo since I'm pretty sure (?) that they didn't start producing the new stickers until the T61s hit the streets...

...but in any case, I have seen sellers on eBay from time to time offering the old stickers, so you could simply peel off the old ones and replace them or perhaps even just apply the old-school ones on top of the new ones.

Also, in my experience in purchasing new palmrests from IBM Parts directly for T4x laptops, the brand-new ones that you get from them are virgin/don't come with the Intel/ATI/nVidia/Microsoft advertising stickers applied, so you won't have to try to peel them off again if you decide to go for it. Sadly, though, as you noticed, they can be pretty spendy (they're usually cheaper at the beginning/if you purchase parts for models currently in production, then they go up from there...)

i actually like lenovo as a company and i think they do good work. the reason why i want the old logo is that i think they give the laptop a more personality instead of the thinkpad logo which i think is a little cramped together.

i never liked the windows or rest of the stickers. my t60 is the first time i try to get the sticks off as i use it very often and i didn't want coloring on my palmrest. (you know how if you peel off the label like a year from now that spot undernearth the label will be darker than the rest of keyboard)

115 bucks for a new palmrest to get rid of cosmetic flaw. blah i start to sound like a mac person. please shoot me on the head the day i buy a mac.

I'm not sure what logo you want, but I have a used one here with 2 stickers on the left - Intel Centrino Duo and Designed for Windows XP. On the lower right it says IBM Thinkpad. It has a fingerprint reader ind looks to be in great condition. You can have it for a lot less than $115. PM me if you are interested.
