DVD Drive in T30 Issues w/ Vista

#1 Post by adgray » Wed Aug 20, 2008 9:01 am

Hi have converted over to Vista Ultimate. I know don't even go there.

I can read DVDs and CDs as long as they have content on them. It will not read a virgin CD or DVD.

Any suggestions.

TIA

Dan

don't understand your issue...

even with XP - when a CD/DVD is blank when you try to access it you won't be able to open it
if you have a burner - it will open a blank window...
ex: T30, TR451, TR453, R51, R52, X40, X60, R61, T400
X200 - P8600 2.66Ghz, 3G, 250G
G50-70 - 3558U 2.4Ghz, 4G, 1T

It is R/W. When I put in a CD or DVD that has been written it will see the contents. It does not recognize a CD/DVD that has not been written to.

In order words, so I not be able to see the CD/DVD with empty contents. Even though the DVD/CD is installed it asked for me to put in another DVD/CD.

Does that help?

Have you installed a Burner program like Nero?
Without that, nothing will work.
