T43 i cant get the fingerprint reader to work

I have a t43, fresh install of xp and the finger print reader wont work. I have installed all of the updates and drivers and pc-doctor says it should be working fine. When i go to enroll a fingerprint nothing happens. Then the enroller program locks up. I go to the control panel and use the senor test and it shows nothing. I dont know what else to do.

Anyone else have this problem?

Do your USB ports work? The reader is a USB device
