Multimedia Fn Keys don't work on background iTunes

#1 Post by LB_BlueVue » Sat Aug 23, 2008 1:15 am

I recently did a fresh install of XP pro on my T60p. Before I did the install, I could control iTunes with the Fn-Arrow Key media controls (play/pause,stop, fwd, rev), regardless of whether or not iTunes was in the foreground or not.
Now that I've reinstalled, and run all the updates, I can no longer control iTunes when it's in the background. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Did you install the IBM driver for the Fn keys? I think they might default to Windows Media Player.

I found this specific iTunes hotkey driver that looks cool:

The driver is there, as the keys work fine in WMP, both in the foreground, and background.
They also work with iTunes, but only when it's in the foreground.
They used to work right, but somewhere in the reinstallation, I seemed to have missed something.

oh okay; I guess you checked the iTunes options to see if there is a background control option?
