Extract files from Rescue & Recovery DVD

I used to be a happy X61 owner until it was stolen from me recently

I made a recent backup of my files, but the catch is that I used Lenovo's Rescue and Recovery tool. Given that I no longer have my X61 that that the rescue procedure is intended to restore an entire hard disk image, I am at loss as to how to recover my files.

Being too much of an optimist, I tried booting from the R&R startup disk on another (non-Lenovo) laptop and surely enough, it crashed.

Does anyone know if it is possible to extract individual files from a R&R DVD? All I can see from browsing through the DVD is some .imz files which appear to be compressed and encrypted.
