Does anyone know which southbridge used in T400/T500?

ICH9M or ICH9M-E?

According to this Intel PDF doc.

http://rethink.intel.com/Download/319505-002US.pdf

The ICH9M-E includes all features of ICH9M, plus RAID 0/1 and
Intel Active Management Technology 4.0 support.

And when I compare with the T400/T500 datasheet

http://shop.lenovo.com/ISS_Static/merch ... asheet.pdf

Found out that the new T400/T500 does have the Active Management Technology (iAMT)

It would be interesting if it uses an ICH9M-E southbridge chipset in the T400/T500 machine.

Time for the RAID 0 fun!

I dunno if it means anything, but on my T500 under the device manager it shows a bunch of ICH9 components plus the following:

ICH9M-E LPC Interface Controller - 2917

interesting... Does this mean, that we can potentially run RAID0 if we install two harddrives in the unit? If so, would it be installed in the ultrabay slot (i assume so).

I have been surfing the lenovo accessories website, and I did not find any ultrabay support for second harddrive for T400/500 series. I guess they're not available yet.

Does anyone know if this harddrive bay holder will be available anytime soon ?

Thanks for the reply!
Now, can anyone enter the BIOS on T400/T500 to check if there's a RAID option?

http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/i ... 015988.htm

I'm so temping to upgrade to a T400 if it supports a RAID setup.
