Mouse Cursor in the way of Typing -Solution

#1 Post by Nick Y » Mon Aug 25, 2008 2:56 am

I had an annoying problem when entering data into a database. The mouse pointer was continually visible and in the way as I typed and the control panel hide-cursor mouse setting seemed to make no difference (-a Windows feature.)

Eventually I found mouseaway, which is a very small free utility. Basically it moves the pointer away as you type. The cursor is still visible, but not where you are typing. It works with XP, but the author cannot confirm operation with Vista.

Details at www.geocities.com/mtetrode/

(The is another utility called Cursor Hider, at www.softexe.com/cursorhider.html, but it is not free.)

From the control panel in Vista select "Mouse", select the "Pointer Options" tab and check the box "Hide pointer while typing". This works for me for most programs.
