Non-IBM-Lenovo DVD-RW drive in T4x

#1 Post by Kappa7 » Mon Aug 25, 2008 4:47 pm

It's possible to use a oem superslim (9.5mm) DVD-RW in a T4x?
For example i've found the oem version of the NEC AD-7910A (the same model that lenovo use for the T61) for a really affordable price. I know that i have to cut a piece of the front bezel, but there are other differences? The ide connector is the same? The small plastic piece that lock the drive in the ultrabay slim is standard or it's specific ibm-lenovo? I've bought a T40 without dvd-rom drive, so i can't bring the piece from the old drive.
Thanks for yours responses.
