X21 Boot Device / USB CD / PCMCIA CD?

#1 Post by tradbourne » Thu Dec 30, 2004 6:17 am

Will an X21 boot from a USB or PCMCIA CDRom? I have one without a docking station and want to do a clean reinstall of the OS.

if I remeber it right, I could not boot from PCMCIA CD drive, I ended up taking the HD out, put it into another NB, install Xp... then put the HD back into my X21

Is the Slice with installed CDRom or Floppy the only way to boot an X21?

UPDATE:

I just successfully booted from a USB (SmartDisk) floppy drive.

I guess this means that the X21 will boot from USB anyways....

UPDATE:

Finally got an external kit USB kit that will attach to any IDE device and it works fine. Real flexible and real cheap....
