Determining the number of mini-PCI E slots in an X60s

#1 Post by jketzetera » Thu Aug 28, 2008 7:38 am

I believe that the X61/s series could feature two mini-PCI E slots on the motherboard even if the configured model was not a WWAN-machine.

Does the same apply to the X60/s series? If so, is there any way of determining how many slots exists without actually opening the computer and peeking inside?

The FRU# of the motherboard is on a sticker on the motherboard, visible by removing the DIMM door on the bottom of the machine (2 screws). Look up the FRU# in the parts list:

I easily found the the motheboard FRU and could find it in the parts list you provided. As the listed FRU part does not say WWAN, I am assuming that there is no second mini-PCI-E slot available.

Many thanks for the info!
