X61t partial screen delamination?
X61t partial screen delamination?
On my new X61t, I think I am seeing a partial screen de-lamination. In the lower left hand corner of the display, there is an irregularly shaped area with a distinct border that appears lighter than the rest of the viewscreen. By rubbing with a cotton cloth around the edges, I can move the edges, but I can't rub the entire bubble toward the edge of the screen so the "bubble" can escape.
Does anyone have a suggestion before I call EZ-Serve?

WilsonF, did you get this issue resolved?
I also seem to notice a small area of 'delamination' on my x61t. It's not a bubble in that it has trapped air, but just a 2-3mm circle that doesn't seem to blend in as well as the rest of the screen. I can only notice on certain angles.

That is the way mine was.
I sent it to EZ Serve and had a very bad experience. The technician said it was not covered by warranty and "billing" said they would not take a credit card number and allow the machine to be repaired unless I conceded. (I really like that: do it Lenovo's way with no questions asked or they'll send your machine back un-repaired.)
Since the machine is for my son to take to college, I did so, but when the credit card bill comes I'll probably find a way to get someone at Lenovo to talk to me.
To add insult to injury, when the machine was returned with a new touchscreen, the expert technician had failed to connect something so the touchscreen did not work. Supposedly it will be back today with a functioning touchscreen.
I had an opportunity for a more immediate response than waiting for my credit card bill. I had the IT people in my law firm cancel an order for Lenovo desktops to replace all the desktops in my law firm and replaced them with HP systems instead. (Not that Lenovo cares about orders for fewer than 2,000 systems, probably, but I do what I can.)

Incidentally, between that last post and this one I installed a screen protector (from Photodon) on my X61t . Cleaning the screen before installation removed some spots I thought might be coating defects, but left a couple behind. Putting on the protector did indeed eliminate them. It also greatly reduced the "sparkly" (see other threads), which to be honest I now miss.
How many 'spots' do you guys have?
I only notice 1 spot on my screen.

I had maybe 5 or 6 before cleaning the screen, after which there were one or two. Possibly more vigorous cleaning might have removed these, but if they were from surface treatment defects it might also have made them worse. With the LCD protector film on, those two spots have disappeared.aceo07 wrote:How many 'spots' do you guys have?
