Latest non-IBM Atheros 11a/b/g drivers?

Hi,

I've just acquired a T42 equipped with a 11a/b/g Atheros Wireless card. I've found the 77wc39ww.exe v4.1.2.156 to be the latest IBM drivers. Are there any newer/better non-IBM drivers supporting this card?

Another thing, my other T42 with Intel/Pro 2200bg wireless seems to be picking up weaker signals.

I've have always thought that the Atheros 11a/b/g would have better range than the Intel 2200bg card, but am I mistaken or is it something to do with the right drivers?
