#1 Post by Marin85 » Fri Aug 29, 2008 6:30 am

Hi folks,
What chipsets do the famous Atheros ThinkPad a/b/g cards have that some of the T60s were shipped with? (Aksing just for my information)

Thanks

Thanks for the link, Harry! Now I know that AR5212 and AR5BXB6 are the same thing. Googling the first one delivered a lot more results on my problem. Maybe, there is a light in the end of the tunnel :D

Cheers

Unfortunately, that page on ThinkWiki is not entirely correct, and I believe that some of the confusion is because it seems like a lot of the time when there is an Atheros chip that /proc/pci doesn't know about it spits out AR5212 as its response. I know that we have more than a few AR2413-based MiniPCI cards at the office that show up as AR5212 even though they're (obviously) not.

AR5212 is the MAC chip for their dual-chip PCI radio solutions. The official chip number for the AR5006EX series/generation is AR5423, which is a single-chip a/b/g radio/MAC on PCI-Express.

So, the number you're looking for is AR5423.
