Need Power Switch For Mini Pci Slot. Suggestions?
Alright I've got an R52 with a whitelist for wireless cards. I've tried the bios modifications and come up empty handed. I've found out that if I insert the card right before windows boots, and right after the whitelist check, everything works great!! SO, I've come to the conclusion that I need to be able to turn my mini pci slot off, and then right before windows boots, switch it on. I have a pinout for the mini pci, but don't know where to start. Should I turn off all grounds? Is it safe to do that with one switch?? Is there a pin that I could turn off just to make it look like the card is not plugged in? any help is greatly appreciated. Also if anyone wants to take a crack at fixing my bios, that would be cool.

It seems that the PCI Specs do not allow PCI Clock to be more than 25.4 mm ±2.5 mm. Which puts that completely out of the question. So a little more testing, and I come up with PCI Bus Grant aka pin 30 GNT#
It disables the mini pci card, and I am unable to find and info on it regarding length specs. So I will continue to do research and see what I can find, If I find nothing, this may be the one to switch. But I am not looking to produce any interference on the pci bus or with the wireless card, so if this is an issue, please, I will accept any suggestions. Thanks!!

How about the DEVSEL# signal (pin 72)?
edit: Umm... never mind. It appears that signal needs to be controlled very closely in time with respect to other signals.

This project may turn out to be unnecessary, as I have recieved a Pm from Zender that contains a Bios which should fix my issue and make this alot easier. Only problem is I don't know wheather it's for the 1849 or not. Is there a way to check and see what machine the bios is for? I am very anxious to try this and would rather brick my machine using the right bios, than the wrong one.

You could try opening the binary file with a hex editor such as XVI32 and poke around and see if you can extract some readable strings out of the first couple of lines.
