Amen to that. Unfortunately, some people out there don't quite feel the same way...

I don't mind the wind or the rain, but not in the same gulp. I have been monitoring this for some time now and hope/pray for the best for all in its path.

For anyone who followed the Interdictor LiveJournal blog during Katrina, the same crew is blogging again at http://gustavbloggers.com/ They've got RSS feeds for both the blog entries and the comments.

At least things are in better order this time for Gustav than they did for Katrina. But that also comes from the people on the front lines making the decisions.

I hope every makes out alright.

I feel sorry for the area that was already battered 3 years ago, but growing up on the East Coast, I used to look forward to Hurricane Season. My parents used to buy all kinds of goodies, so that we had food to live on, if it was ever needed. We had tons of food and water. Fortunately, we also had a gas stove, and when the power would be out for a few days, we still ate well.

I remember one year, we had a neighborhood breakfast, the day after. My mom made pancakes and sausage for anyone and everyone that wanted some. It was a lot of fun.

I know that the above might sound like I am twisted, but then again, my dream job would be a storm chaser (with a Thinkpad of course ;-)). I have gone from Hurricane season to living in Tornado Alley....lol Atleast with Hurricanes you have plenty of notice.

Whew!! Glad to say that I am reporting in, I lost power at about 11pm CST on 09/12/08 and have not got power back. I fortunately have a friend 10 minute drive away that had power restored in 8 hours. Now I'm in the comforts of AC and running water. Best wishes for all in the area!!
