Hello,
do you know how can I set the screen brightness that is in effect on resume from standby/hibernation?
More info:
I have a T60 with the usual thinkvantage drivers/utilities (updated to the latest stuff available through System Update).
Fn-F3, Fn-Home, Fn-End all work fine. My default and active profile has full brightness set (at least when on ac power, and I AM on ac power).
When I power up the laptop, the welcome screen (with the icons for each user) has full brightness. When I log-in I get full brightness. However if I leave the laptop unused for a while and it goes into standby/hibernate, when I wake it up I see that it initially resumes to full brightness, but only momentarily and immediately switch to MINIMUM brightness (difficult to see) . I can increase it with Fn-Home, but the next time the laptop goes into standby, it reverts to minimum again. Note that after I log-in it always reverts to full brightness. It's just the welcome screen that's dimmed.
My power profile is set for full-brightness both for ac and battery power, and "lower brightness" is set to NEVER, both for ac and battery power. But maybe the welcome screen is using a different profile (AFAICT it shouldn't, should it?).
This is on WinXP sp3. This started to happen after I completely reinstalled the OS (from lenovo recovery disks) and lenovo drivers.
Maybe there is a registry setting that control default brightness or profile?
Thanks
Libit
Screen brightness on resume from standby/hibernate
found
Well, I've just found what was causing it.
In fn-f3 , manage settings, global power setting, there the "enable dynamic brightness control" section (and relative advanced button) that controsl dimming in various situations.
I probably didn't have the latest driver with this option before reinstalling the OS so didn't know about it.
Solved....
Cheers,
