Technical Specs for T60 batteries

#1 Post by baertracks » Mon Sep 01, 2008 3:37 pm

I’m currently using a 9 cell 10.8V 7.8AH (FRU 92P1131) and 6 cell 10.8V 5.2AH (FRU 92P1141) battery.

In searching for replacement batteries I’ve come across quite a few batteries that are listed as replacements for the above FRUs, but which come with quite different AH ratings.

For example:
6 cell 4.4AH (IB26S6)
9 cell 6.6AH (IB26L6)
6 cell (?) 7.2AH (92P1137)

Is having a higher AH always better with regards to battery life?

Would any of these batteries NOT be compatible with my Thinkpad T60 8744?

Where are the best battery deals at the moment?

Thanks!

I don't have any direct experience, but I've heard plenty of second-hand reports that non-OEM Thinkpad batteries do not perform wello and aren't worth the money or hassle. I would stick with genuine Thinkpad batteries.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.
