Problem with Atheros card on T60
Problem with Atheros card on T60
This is really strange to me.
I have a T60 with the atheros abgn card and the drivers and access connections are all the most current. I cannot get it to assign an address when connecting to my home wireless network.
The method of encryption or lack of makes no difference.
Another desktop that I have with a wireless card connects fine (so I am thinking the router (Linksys WRT54G) is working.
My laptop connects to the wireless network at work (So I am thinking it works too)
I am really puzzled, and have tried about every setting I can think of.
Any Ideas?

...before it's too late.
Since your desktop connects, agree that router appears to be working. You may try to temporarily switch to Windows built-in wireless management software in order to rule out any Access Connection issues. Good luck.

I do believe I have connected before, I did have a different SSID then.
I suspect the router as well, but it is strange that my desktop's card continues to access the router just fine.
1. Open Access Connections, delete the current profile and recreate a wireless connection (search network and reconfig).
2. Go to Network Connectioins in Control Panel, right click the wireless connection icon and select 'Repair'.
3. You may also manually configure the TCP/IP of the wireless connection (manually assign IP address, Subnet mask, gateway, DNS etc). Refer to your desktop's network connection (run 'ipconfig /all' in a DOS window) for settings.

It does seem strange that your desktop connects. I had other wireless cards connect too. Believe me though after spending hours and hours trying to get one to work then after changing the router there was no problem. There is some incompatibility that I have not put my finger on yet. Try changing the router if you can just to see if there is a difference. Just another troubleshooting step.
