Swapping NEC DVD+/-RW Drive with T4X Matshita Drive

Has anyone tried swapping this NEC drive (or any other) with the Matshita DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive on a T4X?

I'm concerned with form-factor and connectivity.

If you go to the NEC web page and look at the specs, you will discover that this is a 12.5mm form factor drive, not a 9.5mm. It will not fit, unfortunately.
