Need to buy a new main battery ... where?

#1 Post by msteudel » Wed Sep 03, 2008 2:24 pm

I am buying a new main battery for my t61 and I was wondering if you had any suggestions on a place to buy them from other than lenovo? On lenovo's site they say they are shipping in up to 8 weeks. was hoping there might be a reliable reseller that I can products from them quicker.

Thakns, Mark

I am also out to buy a new (9 cell) replacement battery for my T61p

Any advice on where to buy? Good deals? Generic vs. Lenovo battery?

Thanks

Me too. An new Ultrabay battery would be nice too.
Runtime of a T61+ Quadro is too short with just a 6 cell

But according to notebookreview.com the laptop batteries are on short supply worldwide.

The batteries of the T400 / T61 are equal, right?

I couldn't get a 9 cell from lenovo without waiting 8 weeks or wathever, so I went with a 7cell from B&H It took about a week or so to get here. I have a t61 14" version. I sticks out the back about an inch. My power meter says I can expect 3 hours or so on energy saver mode (not max battery). (Sorry brad I ordered it before I got that last reply from you and I was in a hurry)

The 7 cell is the same dimensions as the 6 cell, just different weight and capacity.

Does anyone know how the 7 cells are connected internal?

14.4 Volt for the 4 cell: right, that's 4 times 3.6 Volt in series
10.8 Volt for the 6 cell: right, that's two series of three parallel
14.4 Volt for the 7 cell: !?!??!??

I was searching eBay for a new battery and found one from the same guy what sold me a like-new Advanced Minidock for € 100 less then new. He sells "new in opened box" from returned wrongly-ordered items (from a regular shop I think). Anyway, the Dock is perfect and the price of this just-ordered battery is too! (€70)
