Which to buy?

I've been happy with my t43 (3 years old, 2668-72U), but it seems like I may need to replace it.

Given that I've been happy with it, which thinkpads (or other laptop) do folks think I would like as a replacement?

You have a lot of choices. It looks like your current T43 has a 14" display.

- All current Thinkpads have widescreen (mostly 14.1" and 15.4") displays. 4:3 displays (which I personally prefer) are not currently offered.
- You can still find a T60 or T61 with a 4:3 screen if you poke around. Availability is discussed in various forums here at Thinkpads.com, or you might keep an eye on Lenovo Outlet Store.
- Within the current product line-up, you should look at the SL, T400, R400 or T61 series for a 14" display.

I would keep an eye on the T400. It looks promising.

krcmd-- how is the level of noise on your cooling fan...?

I don't find fan loud at all. And I'm fussy about noise.
