R&R only boots after restored to factory settings

R&R only boots after restored to factory settings

I just restored my HD for my new T42p to factory settings with product restore disks. It seemed all went well no errors, but now the R&R will only boot. Windows will not boot. Do I need to force boot Windows?

did you, by chance, update rnr after the restore to factory state?

Did the actual restore process (using the IBM Rescue & recovery CD-ROM media) eventually succeed? If not, you might want to see the hints in the thread T42 - Why is this hapening after Rescue and Recovery.

Have you tried telling it to "restore to factory condition" a second time? The cd's just install the restore partition. Then you have to install windows from the restore partition using R&R.
T60 2623-D7U, 3 GB Ram.
Dual boot XP and Linux Mint.

This was the problem. Funny it looks like it is stuck in a loop.....glad its all up and running now!
