Can you use it in the t60p? how do you get it recognized in the ultrabay?

Yes, the T60p support 320GB SATA drives, no problem. In order to put one in the slim bay, you'll need a SATA drive caddy.

Once installed, go to the Windows Disk Manager, format the drive, and assign it a drive letter.

I'm thinking of adding a HD to my T61, too.

So if I get a big 320gig, is there an easy way to transfer/clone my existing hard drive over to the 320 ... so that I can put the small one in the extra bay?

I know that the thinkpad has some of their own proprietary software that might make it tricky.

Thanks

Bfskinnerpunk,

You need to follow the below steps:
1. Install Acronis TrueImage (I use Home v11)
2. Create Bootable Rescue Media
3. Install new HD in your laptop
4. Connect original one to an external enclousure
5. Boot from CD created in Step 2
6. Clone Disk (original to new)

Tseng, I did it the opposite way on my T61p. I purchased Migrate Easy (although there is a free 30 day trial) and cloned my running drive over to the ultra bay. ME allowed me to partition the 320 GIG exactly as I desired and only took a few minutes. Once complete, I simply switched drives.
