R40 Antenna Booster

#1 Post by gtruk9 » Sat Sep 06, 2008 8:28 pm

Is there some way that someone might know that I can boost my monitor antenna signal with some sort of gadget or item so I can get a wifi signal which is just a slight bit out of range?

Thanks in advance

Don't think there's an easy solution, aside from getting a better wireless card, either external or internal. For example, a usb wireless on the end of a cord would be able to be moved around to get better signal alot more than moving the whole computer around.

Again, moving even just the current setup around can help; rotating, tilting lid a little, etc.

WiFi Signal

Well I do have the proximity figured out as to where to place the computer for a better signal... So according to what was said here, I should either get a better wireless card, or some sort of USB antenna?.. please let me know of an example for that.... there are several options I have seen -- including making a homemade one I saw with a copper bamboo sifter made for chinese cooking....

A usb card, not antenna. The problem with getting an antenna is figuring out how to connect it. It's simpler to get something plug'n'play like a usb wireless card. Some of these usb cards come with sizeable antennas as well.
