Are there any HMM-like files for HP?

#1 Post by RealBlackStuff » Tue Sep 09, 2008 6:30 pm

I got a HP Pavilion Notebook N5415 today.
Does anyone know if there are HMMs (similar to those for a TP) for HP laptops, and where to find them?
TIA

See last post in the linked thread. You might notice a familiar member ID at that site ;).

Newer HP laptops have comprehensive maintenance guides (I found one pretty easily for my nw8240). However yours may be a bit harder to find good info on. I did a search in the HP support area andthis is what came up. Seems like the best may well be the link that Harry provided for you

Guys, you are amazing!

Harryc's link was in the right direction.
The 'real McCoy' was found at: http://www.roboscope.net/files/omnibook ... E%20GD.pdf
It's exactly what I needed.
Thanks a bunch! :D

PS: HP's site did not have any links towards service manuals, just user guides.

Not that it really matters (since we're not a HP users forum), but here's the link for the "Maintenance and Service Guide" for the nw8240:

Maybe I'm being presumptuous in saying that there'll be one available for all newer HP laptops, but this particular one has exploded views of components and appropriate step by step instructions for the removal of all components. I won't go through each and every one of the links in the following page, but there may well be a fair few maintenance guides scattered throughout:

Generally they'll be listed under the title "Maintenance and Service Guide".
