Thinkvantage Power Manager??

#1 Post by pae77 » Wed Sep 10, 2008 4:02 pm

Since the last couple of versions of Thinkvantage Power Manager, I haven't been able to get it to run properly consistently on my Vista x64 sp1 machine. It takes forever to load and about 50% of the time, the icon never shows up on the task bar. It also doesn't seem to actually work very well with vista, at least on my machine.

So I decided to uninstall it. Everything seems fine now but I was wondering about: 1) When (at what percentage) will the battery start to charge now without TV Power Manager, and 2) If there is any way to adjust that without installing the TV Power Mgr program?

1) i believe that it will charge any time the battery falls below 100%.
2) don't think so, unless someone has a 3rd party applet to control the battery.

if you still have the installer around, maybe in an ibmtools subdir, can you reinstall an earlier version of tvpm?

Thanks for the reply. Actually, it is at 99% now and not yet charging, so maybe it will be OK. I would be satisfied if it just starts charging at the default 96%. I think I'll run it down to 97% or so and then plug it in and wait and see what happens.

If it doesn't start charging at about 96%, then I guess I'll have to look around for an older version.
