- Ha ha ha. There is a .NET connector for MySQL but it still
does not support LINQ and Entity Framework. There are long threads in their forum with many questions regarding the support with
no answers [2] for more than
half a year. I no longer believe in .NET support by MySQL.
I'd strongly recommend MS SQL Express Edition which is free (with several limitations like 4GB database size) for sure and in my opinion is more technically mature product [3], especially togehter with .NET.

BTW You should rename the thread to "MySQL and ASP.NET" because ASP and ASP.NET are completely different technologies.
