how to open the cover on r40

#1 Post by aki » Mon Jan 03, 2005 5:29 pm

i discover that my LAN jack (RJ45) is not ok. usually we just plugg the cable in the rj45 jack in the light turn on. BUT now i have to hold the cable and press the cable up. otherwise it will lost the connection.

So anyone has any idea why this happened to me?? can i open the cover and how do i do that?

thnx

Personally I don't think it'll be a lot of use, as I can't see you'll be able to do much, but try searching the IBM site for the Hardware Maintenance Manual for the R40 - sadly I can't give you a link, but it might be worth checking the FAQ first...

well i don't use LAN very much, i use Wlan but time to time i have to transfer big files and then i discover that. my service warranty is out of date 11/nov 2004.

i think the LAN10/100 jack (metal jacket beside the modem jack) is somehow glitch, which i have to hold or press the it hard down. [censored] :(
