WXGA TFT with LED Backlight or WSXGA+??
WXGA TFT with LED Backlight or WSXGA+??
I may reorder a T500, buh i am still deciding which screen option is a better choice. I read some posts from other forums saying that the wsxga+ screen is crappy. I don't care about the resolution. Other than that, does it make a significant difference between those in terms of brightness? How about in terms of quality?(colour washed out, viewing angle....) can anyone provide me a detailed explaination, cuz if led is a better option, i am gonna cancel my w500 and order the t500.
is that a big difference?
15.4 WXGA TFT with LED Backlight [add $31.87]
15.4 WSXGA+ TFT [add $47.81]
that's why i am confused, the wsxga+ needs another 15 bucks for upgrade.I don't care about that 15 bucks more. I suppose wsxga+ is a better screen.
For wsxga+, is it bright enough for you to look at it under direct sunlight?
From the spreadsheet, it says they both have 129dpi and 200+ nit.
Does it mean they have the same brightness? What's dpi and nit?
On lenovo website in canada, the T500 screen options don't have "w/ CCFL Backlight", so it doesn't come with it if i order in canada?

There've been so many comments here saying that there's no difference in colors and viewing angles between CCFL and LED.
Nothing difficult to find.
DPI? www.google.com -> first search result.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dots_per_inch
It's not true that WXGA and WSXGA+ have the same DPI - it's not logical.
NIT - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nit_(unit)
You know, it has 200+.
201 = 200+
249 = 200+
The difference between 201 and 249 is huge, but the symbol's the same ...
You say that WSXGA+ is crappy, so WXGA with LED is crappy too - it's the same screen but with a different backlight.
If I had a choice - WXGA LED or WSXGA+ CCFL - I'd choose WSXGA+ without any doubts - the resolution is much more important for me than the better backlight.

hm sorry, but i don't think you're rightYou say that WSXGA+ is crappy, so WXGA with LED is crappy too - it's the same screen but with a different backlight.
sure, LED backlight shouldn't influence screen quality, cause it is only a different backlight..
the WXGA and WSXGA+ are different panels
-> THERE ARE differences in quality

Yep, you're right - I was thinking about the same, but have written wrongly. What I meant:sod wrote:hm sorry, but i don't think you're rightYou say that WSXGA+ is crappy, so WXGA with LED is crappy too - it's the same screen but with a different backlight.

WSXGA+ with LED or without LED has the same screen's quality (just a different backlight).
WSXGA+ with LED and the same WSXGA+ with CCFL will have the same screen quality.
And my observations say that WSXGA+ is much better than WXGA.
So if WSXGA+ CCFL is crappy, WXGA LED is crappy too.
