Charging problems with my X41 laptop

Ok heres all my problems. About two weeks ago I have had trouble with what I thought was the AC adapter on the X41. I had to make sure the power cord was at a good angle. About a week ago it stopped charging completely. I then ordered a X4 ultrabase, so my laptop could charge on that. The Ultrabase came today and I put the X41 on, but it does not charge. I also noticed my AC adapter brick now beeps when plugged in. Does this mean its bad? Is there something else i'm missing?



I'm a college student far away from home so I lack the tools/skills to open up the case and re-solder the ac jack. The local computer place wants $130+. Any help is appreciated.
