No PS2 on T41 = no PS2 k'board?

#1 Post by sagara » Tue Jan 04, 2005 5:08 pm

Hello, I've recently moved from a T23 to a T41, but I cannot find a way to use my favourite PS2 k'board on the T41 - it has no PS2 socket! I've just got a PS2 to USB adaptor - bit of plastic with a USB plug at one end and a PS2 socket at the other - but can't get it to work: 'USB Device Not Recognized' message pops up. I've noticed on ebay other adaptors with a USB at one end and two dongles at the other each with a PS2 socket - one for mouse, one for k'board. Will these work? Or is it more cash outlay for a new cordless keyboard and mouse? (I have an USB optical mouse in one USB slot, so I don't want a USB k'board as both USB slots will be taken up - unless I buy a USB multiport adaptor .... blah, blah, blah ... money, money, money ...).

Cheers,

Robert

You can usually get a USB hub for 15/20$, cheap usb1.1 one, I don't know how much a USB2.0 one is.

Maybe it's just the converter you're using?

Problem solved! I just bought an adaptor with a USB plug at one end, and two doggles at the other with PS2 sockets. a mauve one for a keyboard, and a green one for a mouse - the colours actually match the PS2 plugs on the mouse and keyboard! Only cost 20p (about 35c) on ebay - the postage was £3 (Uk pounds) from HongKong.
