Has anyone tried this disc cloning software?

I'm looking for a similar utility, since Vista's Complete PC Backup doesn't copy FAT32- or ext3 -formatted partitions. I've downloaded Clonezilla, which is open-source, but haven't tried it yet. If that doesn't work out, I might take a look at this, though I'm a little skeptical.

Another FREE imaging option is Paragon Drive Backup 9.0 Express, available here:

I use an older, paid version (8.51), and it works perfectly for my backup / imaging needs. I'm not sure what features may have been removed for the more recent free version. Paragon's website probably has the details.

As it turns out, Macrium Reflect is much easier to set up than Clonezilla and it seems to be imaging my ext-formatted partitions fine; though I haven't tried restoring from them yet, the amount of data supposedly stored in them matches up with the actual amount of data in the partition.

The downside is that I can't back up from within Ubuntu, but with Clonezilla I'd need to either mess with my GRUB settings or run it from a flash drive, neither of which was an acceptable option.

It may not be open-source, but it's free-as-in-beer and it backs everything up, so it gets my mark of approval.

There is an option to make a boot disc so you can restore your images on a non-booting machine.
