Do you think I overpaid for this T60? $425 (specs inside)

Hi
My wife kept using my T61 so I took it upon myself to get her, her own laptop. I was able to pick one up from someone on Craigslist for about $425. Here are the specs:
2.0 ghz
1gb ram
1024x768 display
ati 128mb ram
dvd/ram
100gb 7200 rpm
bluetooth and all the usual stuff. It was pretty clean and the display looks great. I just called IBM to get a new keyboard since that was the only thing that looked a bit worn down.

BTW, it's under warranty till December of next year 2009.

I thought it was a good deal but sometimes I tend to dwell on things and overthink too much.

What do you think?

Sounds good to me. This would cost you $600+ at the Lenovo refurb outlet and would have less warranty coverage.

i wouldn't complain about it, when you are getting as good as this deal. You will be hard pressed to buy a T40 with this price in China. In Australia, the average price of the T60 like your spec is around 600 USD and 700 USD for a mint one.

Man that is a great price!

A few months ago I pad $275 for a T42 and thought it was a good deal.

I recently traded my T42 and a C-Note to my boss for the T60 I am now typing on. So heck yeah, you got a great price and a better video card too. That being said, I really like the Intel graphics in my T60 as it has handled everything I've thrown at it.

That machine should make your wife very happy I would imagine.

I haven't showed it to her yet cause I'm still setting it up. I had installed Ubuntu on it last night but went with Windows instead this morning just because I think she'll be more thrilled with good battery life. All she does is use some minor photoshop, check email and myspace/facebook along with some net browsin.

Excellent deal. I'd pay $425 for such a machine in a heartbeat, and I'm a re-seller...

Congrats and enjoy.

That's probaably a good price.

2x2GB Patriot RAM
320GB Western Digital Scorpio Black Edition
ATI Mobility FireGL V5200

I actually got this one off of Craigslist. I wish it had the SXGA display though. It's for my wife so I don't think she really cares. She actually probably woulda been cool with a cheap Acer but I am biased towardds Thinkpads.

Yeah, my wife doesn't need a thinkpad, but I get them for good deals with 3 year warraties, so I think it works great. She can basicall treat it like crap and it still runs great. I guess that's why I get them for her. She is very computer illiterate, so these work great for her.
