Will there ever be a X300 processor refresh?

#1 Post by dandiep » Sun Sep 28, 2008 3:15 pm

I like the X300s a lot - many people have them in our company. However, the one thing that is lacking for me personally is the processor. Anyone have any guesses to if/when they'll do a processor refresh? Aren't there faster low voltage processors that Intel offers now?

The X200 comes close as well, but the WXGA is too low res for me, not to mention the lack of a touchpad.

No, I was just hoping for something faster than 1.4 GHz. :-)

Is 1.4 GHz the fastest ultra low voltage processor Intel makes? I thought there were 1.6/1.8 ones, but they must be a different class?

Or the X200S announcement? It has the WXGA+ LED display as well, plus the Core 2 Duo SL class processor (instead of the SU class in the X301).

lol... not really.   12.1" @ 1440x900 is 140 DPI where the former sxga+ X60T/X61T is 144 DPI.   i'd buy one. :)

i love high res displays.   many times i've wished my NEC 30" was 22" or 24" at the same 2560x1600 res.   now that would be masochistic. :D

I hope some OS becomes truly DPI independent.
