***Price Lowered to $700 plus shipping - the software alone is worth almost that***
Available in the next week or so is a Dell PowerEdge 840 Server with the following specifications.
2.8 GHz Dual Core Pentium D processor
2.0 GB RAM
dual 160 GB 7200 RPM SATA hard drives
Del SAS-5IR RAID controller with hardware RAID level 1 enabled (mirrored)
Pioneer DVDRW dual layer drive
Dual gigabit ethernet cards
... and of course the reason for owning one of these, a fully licensed copy of Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition with 5 Client Access Licenses.
SBS 2003 includes all of the core technologies needed to host a business including web server, Exchange server for email and shared calendar and Sharepoint server for an intranet site complete with shared group pages and file storage.
This server has been in use at my law firm for just under two years, has never had any issues whatsoever, and will be wiped clean and reinstalled to factory spec, ready for your business. Of course the original install CDs are included along with valid COA. This also comes with Microsoft Outlook 2003 which can be configured (optional by server admin) to install on any PC connected to the SBS 2003 domain. It is licensed for any connected workstation without any need to purchase an Office or Outlook license. You can run free or competing applications for word processing and spreadsheets and still have full Exchange compatible email, calendar and collaboration through Outlook 2003.
The server still has a little over one year remaining on its Dell warranty (depot), though this thing is so solid that you will never need it. Machine was original put into service in December 2006.
Sorry, no installation or tech support by me, but there is about a year remaining on the hardware warranty. I will be happy to contact Dell and transfer ownership and warranty privileges and can assure the buyer that the included software will not be running on any other machine.
This server for all intents and purposes is brand-new in terms of condition. It is highly upgradable, with room for additional drives, newer/faster processors and additional memory. It also has slots for a dedicated video card, has integrated video (more than adequate for server use) and built-in sound.
Can handle up to Intel Xeon 3000 and 8GB of RAM.
Looking for $800 plus actual shipping or local pickup in Los Angeles or Bakersfield, CA.
I'm moving to a Mac OS X Server which is the reason for the sale. I paid about $2,000.00 for this and the software alone sells for $600.
