Question about X60 batteries

#1 Post by richk » Mon Sep 29, 2008 3:24 pm

When you buy a new X60/x60s battery, do they normally come with the 1/2 " spacer that is attached to the side?

Genuine batteries should come with the spacer but I'm not sure it's 100% cases. So better confirm before buying. Aftermarket batteries most likely will not come with the spacer.

And as a last resource, I can find you a spacer for around $10.

It keeps you from getting junk inside.

The spacer only comes with X60s and X61s not X60 nor X61. Because the s-version is thinner and uses the same battery, there's a space between the laptop and battery. That's where you put the spacer.

Thinner has nothing to do with it. The spacer fits to the right of the battery and covers a 1/2" gap. Also, one of the rubber feet is on the spacer.

Actually it does. I have both versions, X61s is thinner than X61. Even that mentioned rubber is on the computer itself on a X61 and on the battery on X61s.
