FS: Thinkpad x60s - $475 - (No Battery)
Hey all, I'm looking to sell my Thinkpad x60s notebook. The issue with the laptop is that I it doesn't currently have a battery. I have two broken batteries (a 4cell and 8cell), so I am unable to test how it works with batteries. The 4cell has a broken connector and the 8cell causes an orange blinking batter light. That said, the laptop itself works perfectly when plugged in.
Processor: Intel Core Duo L2400 1.66GHz
RAM: 2GB
Hard Drive: 120GB 5400rpm
Display: 12" XGA 1024 x 768
Video Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
Integrated Communications: Modem, Ethernet
Wireless: 802.11 a/b/g
Battery: 4-cell (dead), 8-cell extra life (dead)
Ports: 3 USB 2.0; IEEE 1394 (FireWire); expansion bus; monitor-out; AC adapter power jack; audio headphone/line-out, external microphone
Slots: 1 Type II PC Card slot with 34mm Express Card via adapter, Secure Digital card slot
OS: None
The price has been lowered to $475 for the laptop plus any shipping costs. Depending on where you live, I don't see shipping costs being more than $10-15. I will also consider reasonable offers.
The computer is in excellent condition with very little wear. There are no obvious blemishes. The screen looks perfect. The only issues are that there are no working batteries and no operating system. I've installed a copy of XP pro on it to test and everything works perfectly (ports, wifi, etc). Keyboard is in great condition.
The computer is sold as is with guarantees only on the non-battery portions of operation.
I am happy to answer any questions. Pictures can be emailed upon request. Thanks!
-Matt

Also, to further explain the battery situation, the 8cell was holding a charge of about 4hours, but suddenly stopped working. You may be able to fix this, though you may also need to buy a new battery. However, the computer works perfectly when plugged in (I'm typing this post on it).
plug the machine's MTM and serial numbers into this site and you'll find out its status...urza_insane wrote:Unfortunately no warranty that I know of.

The tablet and the s models are very different beasts, even though they're based around the same thing. With the tablet you get the high res IPS panel and the digitizer, but you pay for it in weight, battery life, and price.

A potential buyer should be asking, what are your references? You've made a few posts here in Marketplace mostly, and you are not very good at replying to folks consistently. That's all we know...oh and that you are selling a possible broken X60s for dirt cheap. I wouldn't take a chance here, but that's me. The red lights are flashing so brightly that they are burning my retinas.

While I do agree with you Harry that we should not deal with someone with no activity in the main forum, he does mention that the laptop is fully functional when plugged in. Just trying to be unbiased hereHarryc wrote:A potential buyer should be asking, what are your references? Totally understandable, I don't want anybody to jump on this if they aren't comfortable. I'm selling it cheap because I bought it for $600 over the summer and can stand to take a small loss.
About a month ago the battery mysteriously stopped working and gave me an orange blinking light. I'm not sure if this has happened to others or not, or if it was just a bad battery. That's the only problem with the computer and I want to give people as much information as possible. I bought a chinese ebay battery to test functionality, but it arrived broken. I've decided to move onto building a desktop (which is why the OS is no longer included).
Again, I can guarantee it works plugged in - I just can't say anything about the battery.
