Problem partitioning the Hard Disk?

#1 Post by Fleche » Tue Sep 30, 2008 3:59 pm

Anyone else running into problems partition the HD on their T400?
Partition Magic says the drive has errors on it so I can't touch it.
I used Gpart, that worked, but afterwards I couldn't use the Thinkadvantage button anymore. When I hit it, I just get a blank screen and nothing happens.

I got a couple of T400 and a W500 here and they both behave the same, I suspect Lenovo might have changed something funny to the HD since I was able to do this with a T61 no problem.

Hello,

perhaps you are using an older version of gparted.
See here one recommended method.http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/mess ... ad.id=1317

I was using the latest version of gparted.
Figured out what I did wrong.
There was a 1 meg free space in front of the C: partition, I didn't notice it when I was doing resizing the first time, it works now as long as I left that one meg space free.
