Hi all!
I know I have not posted in a long time, but I've been reading actively. Since my work on my R50p, I've been through a T40p, a pair of X40s, X61s, X60 tablet, and I just started on an X200 today (I love it).
I am posting here because you folks have been very very helpful in the past; please move or delete / lock this post if its redundant or problematic otherwise.
I have a Thinkpad X200 with integrated bluetooth: "ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate II" driver provider is Broadcom, version 5.5.0.3000
The machine is new, I have "My Bluetooth Places" firmly on my desktop, and I have successfully paired my cell phone (a nokia e51, very nice btw) AND I can use bluetooth dial-up networking (DUN) without resorting to installing the nokia PC suite software.
Figuring that out was a little aggrevating.
So basically, I am only using the bluetooth software that came on the machine etc.
My question is, when I connect the "Nokia-E51 Headset Audio Gateway" it connects to the phone, and seems ok...
but when I dial a number on the phone, as soon as the call starts ringing, it disconnects the bluetooth connection between phone and the computer.
I've searched a little bit on this issue (let's face it, a lot).
I have to say, I feel for anybody with serious or even minor bluetooth issues. Between the laptop, bluetooth adaptor, software, phone or other device, it can be really challenging.
so, is anyone else using their thinkpad as a speakerphone?
Years ago, my sony T630 paired great with my T40p and the thinkpad became a speakerphone whenever the phone's bluetooth was on, whether I wanted it or not!
thanks for reading this far into my e-novel!

The bluetooth "stack" or driver makes a big difference on the features available. The Microsoft bluetooth stack is somewhat limited. AFAIK, the Widcom (and perhaps Toshiba) bluetooth stacks have the most features.
If you are running Vista, your options are probably limited. --But don't take my word for it. This is just what I have picked up from my little bit of experience with bluetooth and from what I have read on this site. I have a T42 and use the Widcom stack (Lenovo drivers) with Windows XP.

A little snooping and I found out that Broadcom bought out Widcomm.
