It looks like a more tailored version of PCD5. It has a nice GUI that matches Access Connections 5.02 and other current ThinkPad apps. Neato.

I have a T60p which I have installed Vista Ultimate 64 bit on, and the instructions state this will will run on all Lenovo ThinkPad, ThinkCentre, and Lenovo 3000 systems running Windows XP or Vista and a released after January 2004. My system fits this description, a Thinkpad T60p released after 2004. Yet when I install this program I'm told I don't have a valid license. I'm offer and option to contact Lenovo and when I chose that I'm told the program can't contact Lenovo servers.
( At that point the program ends.

The pie chart/folder aspect of Drive Space Manager (under Diagnostics & Tools) is amazing. The only drawback so far, for some here, is that there's a link to the official user forum, and not thinkpads.com.

Hmm...installed the software (on a T42) and promptly got a bluescreen when accessing Control Panel -> System with the program running. I was attempting to "reinstall" the TVT Packet Filter Miniport to see if I could solve the long-standing (but apparently harmless) device conflict in Device Manager.
After the auto-restart, I cannot reproduce the issue. Hopefully this is a one-time thing as I did not reboot after installing the System Toolbox.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I am downloading it to my T60 now and will definitely give it a tryout.

Yes very nice interface this Lenovo System Toolbox.
My T61p passes "System Stress Test" every time but gets the BSOD during or immediately after the "GPU Pipeline Data Test" when I test Nvidia Quadro FX 570M (via: Welcome > Diagnostics and Tools > Test Device > Find a Device: Video Card > Test). Test history shows "Missing String: libMatrix.p5p:LocalizedString" but I'm sure that has anything to do with the BSOD.
I'll rollback to previous driver for GPU and repeat the test. Has anyone else tried and succeeded?

Thanks Troutman. I'm on driver version 7.15.11.7640 dated 27/08/2008. This was installed via System Update on Friday 3rd Oct.
To clarify, the test my system passes every time is as follows:
Start Lenovo System Tool Box, click on Diagnostics and Tools, Test Scenarios.
I get BSOD if I do the following:
Start Lenovo System tool box, Diagnostics and Tools, Test Hardware, Test a Device, under Video click on Video Card. Is that what you have done or are you refering to the scenario test?
Motherboard was replaced by Lenovo recently. Just want to be sure before I contact them about this problem so I'd appreciate confirmation. Thanks again

I have a T61p with Vista 64-bit and the latest version in the matrix (Lenovo site) is 7.15.11.7597.
Then, per the above post, I ran System Update, and it does not show any new updates (recommended, critical, or other) for the Nvidia Quadro FX 570M on my system.
I wonder what happened? Faulty update; you got it; quickly pulled? In any event, 7597 is the only available driver I can find.

JDH I ran System Update on Friday 3rd Oct, got offered Nvidia update and accepted. You saying I should run System Update a few times before for accepting offered updates?
I assumed updates offered via Lenovo System Updates where tried and tested. Sorry!

If System Update shows me an update, I go get it manually, install and test. I don't check several times as you suggest, and I suspect most people don't.Jike wrote:JDH I ran System Update on Friday 3rd Oct, got offered Nvidia update and accepted. I think Lenovo tests their stuff, but mistakes happen (and did happen to IBM). Their new GUI interface is certainly broken, but the functionality works.

Thanks JDH.
I rolled back driver to 7.15.11.7597 and ran the test again. My T61p still gets the BSOD during "GPU Pipeline Data Test". I assumed this was fixed with replacement motherboard.
Sorry if I appear to have hijacked this thread everyone. At least this version of Lenovo System Toolbox has shown me I still have a problem with my motherboard.
I'll take it up with Lenovo UK

Interesting..
I have installed the new version 5.1.5032.18 and my T61p now passes all tests, including the GPU Pipe Data Test. I notice the video card tests have changed from version 5.1.5032.16 which was was causing BSOD on my system
I almost sent my T61p for repair but decided to wait until the new year as the BSOD was only happening with video card test and not with my applications and only game (FEAR).
Thanks Radioguy for pointing me to the new version

Looks like I did need to reinstall this driver. It has shaved 20+ seconds off my boot time. I guess any application that can give you a BSOD in the first ten seconds of use, is powerful.Winbond (National Semiconductor) TPM (Trusted Platform Module) device

"Winbond (National Semiconductor) TPM (Trusted Platform Module) device"
Where did you find this driver for the T61p?
I'm getting error messages about the TPM/TBS in the system logs, but the "Toolbox" says it finds nothing wrong--it thinks the TPM is part of a USB interface??

Re: Lenovo Systems Toolbox (PC Doctor 5+)
I’m running toolbox on a T61 with Vista Business and a T41 with XP Pro. It seems to be a nice tool and works fine. There is, however, a difference between the machines on the Performance and Configuration tab. The T61 has a daily report under “Performance” of the “Startup Time”. The T41 has no entries under “Performance”.
Is this a difference between Vista and XP? Between a T61 and a T41? What’s being measured as “Startup Time” and where is the measurement coming from?
