Sound Drivers!

#1 Post by rscosworth » Thu Oct 02, 2008 4:53 pm

Guys,

I have an issue on my T61 whereby when i do a custom install using my Vista Ultimate retail software and then apply all the thinkpad drivers the sound from the machine is painfully quiet.

When i reload the same machine using the T61 Vista Ultimate reload cd then the sound is very loud (they way i like it)

I obviously prefer to do my install as i can leave out all the thinkvantage nonsens but id prefer my sound to be working properly.

Ive tried reinstalling all the drivers to no avail.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

And here I thought all T61s were simply softspoken to an extreme. "Obviously" it sounds like there's a different driver going it at some point, if you ever pin it down, please do share!

It might also be something in the defaults in the Vista sounds controls--there are too many places and too many options in there for adjusting sound levels.
