Crucial 1 GB DDR 333 (PC 2700) RAM: Only $23 from Fry's!

#1 Post by Johan » Fri Oct 03, 2008 1:13 pm

I guess many forum friends might be interested in saving a few $$ - financial crisis in the USA and everywhere else these days, so here's how:

Frys.com currently have Crucial 1 GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 333 (PC 2700) Laptop Memory (P/N CT12864X335) for only $22.99 after Mail-in rebate ("Mail in Rebate valid from 2008-10-03 to 2008-10-09. M.I.R. must be postmarked latest 30 days after purchase date. Limit (1) one rebate per product per address"). Regular price at FRY's is $48 so this is a very good deal! Current price for the same RAM at Newegg is $42 + $7 S/H.

Go get it!! :thumbs-UP:

In July this was $14.99 with free S/H from Fry's, after $40 mail-in rebate.

It's now October and I'm still waiting to receive my rebate!

Sorry to hear this; as I am outside of the USA, I am precluded from drawing advantage of these apparently very good offers (just like all us "outside the USA" are also precluded from taking advantage of the very low US-prices on e.g. new ThinkPad's!) - and therefore I have exactly zero experience with these "mail-in rebates" (these doesn't exist over here). Anyway, I only wanted to share what I meant was useful information; I am not any sort of sales-agent for Fry's...

With respect to Fry being very slow in mailing the rebate, it might be of interest to see the Mail-in rebate sheet which says:
It is required that you cash the rebate check within 90 days of the issuance date on the check. Contact 866-251-9541, weekdays, 8am to 7pm (CST) if you do not receive the rebate check within 8 weeks of the postmark date on your qualified request.

I just got my rebate on my Corsair memory from eons ago.
The big ones always take forever..

Word on FW is that Crucial is now mailing rebates filed through August 15th.

As for the original post, one can get the Corsair for $18 AR. No free shipping tho.

I ordered the corsair and crucial sticks from 2 weeks ago, but apparently it "didn't go through their system" even though the order shows up on the tracking page. They say they can redo the order but can't do anything about the rebate. The crucial rebate is $10 lower this period and the corsair doesn't have free shipping. I'm not very happy, I have to call them back tomorrow.

Newegg has crucial 1gig pc2700 sodimms for 33.98 shipped.
Ordered 2 last weekend. No rebate
Prices lately have finally dropped on pc2700 ddr notebook ram.
I try to avoid Frys rebates, have never received a $40 rebate on a expensive power supply I bought there.
