"view new posts" feature changed?

I have recently noticed that those threads I haven´t read show "new posts" even after leaving the forum and then opening it again and without any new posts having come up in the meantime. I actually found it the way it was before a way more comfortable as the threads that I didn´t follow draw less of my attention because the subforums didn´t show "orange false alarm".
Does anyone else experience the same problem?
