I was testing a wireless router in my house and was trying to get the best signal possible.

One of the steps that increased my signal in a very good way (20% more signal or so) was to update my wireless card driver from 9.0.37 (newest driver available at the lenovo site) to 9.0.39 (available in the intel website)

WARNING: No NOT uninstall the previous driver!!! or access connection will not work. Just update the older driver with the newer one.

With the older driver, i was getting just 1 bar of signal (in the Xp wireless connection network status), now i have 4 bars
