T400 wireless card replacement ?

#1 Post by mok » Mon Oct 06, 2008 7:34 am

Hi,

I've searched some information on different websites/forum about a possible replacement of the intel 5100/5300 wireless module, but I've not found any "clear" response.

I just wanted to know if someone has succesfully replaced the wireless module on the T400.

I'm particularly interested in atheros chipsets (5008 or any supported by madwifi drivers on linux), but dont know if they are really compatible. I know that there is a sort of whitelist for mini pcie cards on lenovo laptops...

Some suggestions ?

Thanks.

Look through the t6x forum. They both use a minipci-e card, and it might tell you if they still use lists and what older cards may be on there. I know that IBM has 'whitelisted' their cards in the past, but I can't confirm if Lenovo did on the new ones. I'm sure if they did, it's just a matter of bios tweaking to make it work.
