Scott's ToDo List

#1 Post by spt60 » Wed Oct 08, 2008 10:21 am

Hi, I'm trying to follow the Scott's Todo List tutorial on asp.net (url: http://www.asp.net/learn/3.5-videos/video-363.aspx). I did it successfully as a website/web application.

What I'm trying to do now is to twist the tutorial and do it as a desktop application (which I can have it run on my local PC on the desktop). Thus I started the project as a Windows Form Application. However, I can't find the Masterpage in the creating masterpage step of the tutorial :| Does AJAX still run in desktop app.?

Please help!!! Thanks. :)

No. Ajax is a web technology. If you want Ajax in a "desktop" app, you'd have to embed a browser object in your application.

Assuming from the URL in your first post that you're using .NET 3.5, look at this example.

Buttons, sliders, labels, and textboxes (applied directly to the form) are your friends.

in the tutorial, at 6:25 instead of DropDownList control, in WFA, it's called ComboBox. However the way to implement the function is different (not like the tutorial) and I can't figure it out.

Thanks!!! :)
